The chosen Undead was imprisoned in the Northern Refuge of the Undead and lived out his last days, being devastated, but still retaining the remnants of his mind, surrounded by the Hollow Ones, whom he would soon join if not for the help of Oscar, who helped him get out of the cell. After getting out, he went to look for his savior, but was too late — the hero finds Oscar dying from wounds as a result of a fall. The Chosen One managed to reach the knight, who, on his deathbed, asked the Chosen One for a favor. The knight told him about the prophecy, about the Chosen Undead who would change the fate of all the undead and free them from the curse. To do this, it was necessary to go to the lands of the ancient Lords, to Lordran, and by ringing the Bell, find out the fate of the undead. After that, Oscar passed away. A Demon appears near the exit in front of the Chosen One. After his victory, nothing hindered him, and the Undead went to the ancient lands of the Lords, Lordran, to fulfill his destiny.

After reaching Lordran, he was able to ring two bells and discover his fate, as well as meet two Primordial snakes, each of whom had his own vision of the fate of the Chosen Undead: one wanted the Chosen One to continue the work of Gwyn, prolonging the Era of Fire, the other wanted the Chosen One to break this endless chain and give power people, starting the Era of Darkness and becoming the Dark Lord.

After defeating all the Ancient Lords, he was able to get into the Crucible of the First Flame, to the place where the Fire originated, where his pitiful remnants are guarded by Gwyn, who has become just a pale shell of his former self. After defeating Gwyn, the Chosen Undead are faced with a choice that will determine the future of the world.
