Hogwarts

Hogwarts is the only school of magic in the UK and Ireland. It accepts children who have reached the age of 11 and have magical abilities.

As soon as a child begins to show magical powers, his name is immediately entered into a special Access Book with a Pen, then, when the magician turns eleven, he receives a letter about enrolling in Hogwarts with a list of necessary items for purchase. Even in special cases, a Special Envoy brings a letter to Muggle-born magicians. This system does not allow squibs (children of magicians deprived of magic) to get into school, however, in 1858, one squib, thanks to his brothers and sisters, got to the hat, which distributes the faculties.

Hogwarts was founded around the 10th century by four powerful wizards: Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Candida Ravenclaw and Penelope Hufflepuff. The founders built a magical school and accepted all children with magical abilities there, which Slytherin objected to — he believed that the school had no place for Muggleborns. The founders decided to assign students to themselves according to different skills and characters, so four faculties were formed at the school — this tradition lives on in the school to this day.
