R2-D2

R2-D2, Artuditu or Ardvadidva, in short — R2, Artu or Ardva is an astromech droid, satellite of C-3PO. To help his ingenuity, R2 possessed a variety of tools that allowed him to be an excellent mechanic of spaceships and an expert in interacting with computers. A lightweight droid, R2 often rushed into dangerous situations without hesitation. This insane adventurousness often saved his companions in numerous adventures that often changed the course of Galactic history.

R2 had a barrel-shaped body, on which a rotating dome was located, acting as its head and including a single sensor, the eye. It had three supports with wheels that allow it to walk or ride. Unlike his buddy, the protocol droid C-3PO, R2-D2 did not talk, but communicated through a sequence of beeps, whistles, and trills that Threepio could translate. It seems that his hosts also understood what he wanted to say.
