Addams family



The rich Addams family, living in a huge gloomy Gothic-style mansion, includes the following main characters:

- The head of the Gomez family, an eccentric Spanish billionaire with a bushy mustache, a gymnast, a swordsman, a cigar smoker and an avid admirer of his wife and the destruction of toy trains;

- His wife Morticia (Morticia Addams), a tall, thin, pale-skinned woman in a black dress who looks like a vampire, who grows poisonous plants in her greenhouse and loves her husband no less than he loves her;

- Wednesday's daughter, always a serious girl in an outfit resembling a school uniform, who is obsessed with causing pain and suffering to other people and whose object of "interest" in terms of all sorts of "jokes" is her brother Pugsley;

- Pugsley's son, an outwardly good-natured plump boy, the victim of Wednesday's sadistic "jokes", who, however, always remains unharmed after them.;

- Uncle Fester, Gomez's older brother, is a plump bald man with pale skin and sunken eyes, dressed in a kind of monk's habit, who loves playing with dynamite and all kinds of sadistic entertainment, but always tries out all his ideas on himself.;

- Grandma (who periodically acts as Gomez and Fester's mother, then as Morticia's mother) is a witch and fortune teller who looks like a stereotypical witch.

- Larch is the butler and servant of the family, a huge, silent man, whose image is copied from Frankenstein's Monster; the "catchphrase" is "Name?";

- The thing is a mysterious family member, sometimes referred to as Gomez's "childhood friend," who is a living right hand that communicates with others using sign language. Lives in a box;

- Cousin Itt is a relative who periodically visits the family, who is a ball of wool a little over a meter tall with a hat and dark glasses on top of him, making a strange squeal instead of speech, which, however, does not prevent the members of the Addams family, unlike other people, from understanding him.

By genre, stories about the Addams family refer to black humor and the representation of the "ideal" American family through the prism of satire. Most jokes are based on the "abnormal" and often shocking hobbies of a family whose members sincerely do not understand that their behavior and lifestyle cause others to be horrified and annoyed. Despite the black humor of the stories, the Addams are shown in them as a close-knit and loving family that formally does not wish other people any harm. In a number of stories, family members demonstrate supernatural abilities, primarily related to their immunity to pain or various dangerous or deadly influences.
