Bane



Bane - is a fictional character, a supervillain of comic books published by DC Comics. The character's first appearance was in Batman Comics: Vengeance of Bane #1 (January 1993), created by Chuck Dixon, Doug Monk, and Graham Nolan. Bane is one of the Dark Knight's most powerful enemies, best known for defeating Batman and breaking his spine.

While serving his sentence for his late father, Bane was imprisoned in Santa Prisca Prison as a child. In prison, he had only one friend: a teddy bear. When he became a little older, Bane began to read books that were brought to him secretly in his cell, and to practice meditation. Finally, as an adult, Bane found spiritual balance, which helped him survive during an experiment conducted with a substance called "Venom". Many people died during this experiment, but Bane survived and was able to escape to Gotham. Having appeared there and wanting to prove his strength, he launched a multi-pronged plan: he blew up the Arkham psychiatric hospital, releasing all its insane patients, and then attacked and kidnapped Robin. The Dark Knight was exhausted from numerous fights with his opponents, who fled to the city, so he could not resist Bane with dignity.: he easily defeated the hero and broke his spine. While the Dark Knight was on the mend, he was replaced in this position by Azrael, Batman, who used more brutal methods against criminals. Bane also did not escape this fate: Batman's neophyte upgraded his costume and brutally beat him, breaking many bones and disabling him for a long time. When Bruce Wayne reappeared in Batman's costume, he wanted to take revenge on Bane and managed to do so by ripping the Venom supply hoses out of his body. After this incident, Bane was able to assert himself and became one of Batman's strongest and worst enemies. Bane created a device with which he could inject Venom into himself whenever he wanted.

During his incarceration, Bain spent a lot of time reading, improving his level of education. He devoted the rest of his time to physical improvement. As a result, Bane is physically as strong as Batman. Even though he looks like a man with insufficient dexterity, he is able to use the most intricate combinations of techniques that require an increased level of dexterity, and this is proof that Bane is practically in no way inferior to Batman. Bane is also extremely cunning and is an excellent strategist and tactician, which helps him exist in the underworld of Gotham. Bane was also able to figure out Batman's name within one year, from which it can be concluded that he has a well-developed photographic memory.

In Batman and Robin, Bane is a serial killer sentenced to life in prison. His name here is Antonio Diego. Having survived the test of the Venom supersteroid, which acts as a drug, he uses it to increase his strength. After escaping with Poison Ivy, he becomes her servant and Batman's opponent. In the final battle, on Mr. Freeze's orders, he tried to kill Robin and Batgirl, but they pull the hose out of his head, and he becomes an ordinary person again. In contrast to the comic book prototype, in the film, Bane has a low level of intelligence and is a typical "dumb mountain of muscles" following orders. In the Russian dubbing, his name is "The Curse", not Bane, as in the original.
