The Punisher

Frank Castle is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he turned from an inexperienced Marine into a brutal soldier. He first of all became known for his brutality — all the missions in which Castle participated were completed successfully, with minimal losses for American troops. Frank treated his subordinates with respect and valued their lives, but at the same time he was ready to kill those members of his squad who harmed innocent residents of Vietnam.
When the war was over, Castle returned to the United States, where his wife and two children were waiting for him. Frank's happiness did not last long, as his family was brutally murdered during a gunfight between bandits in New York's Central Park. Miraculously surviving, he vowed to take revenge. Frank Castle declared war on crime and became a ruthless vigilante, after meeting whom only a few criminals remained alive. For his actions, he received the nickname the Punisher. From time to time, the Punisher crossed paths with superheroes who disapprove of his methods of fighting evil.
