Silver Surfer


One of the noblest martyrs in the universe, the Silver Surfer values his freedom above all else, but he can sacrifice even that for a good cause. His real name is Norrin Rudd, he was born on the planet Zenn-La and is a representative of the most ancient and technologically advanced humanoid race, which created an international utopia devoid of crime, disease, hunger, poverty and treats any kind of living beings favorably. Norrin's mother, Ilmar, was completely unsuited to this environment, and eventually committed suicide. Left with an atypically ambitious father, Jartran, Norrin was raised as a rather gloomy but intelligent teenager with a thirst for knowledge, advancement and achievements, rather than idleness, which gradually began to dominate Zenn-La society. However, being disgraced, Jartran later committed suicide when he was accused of stealing someone else's idea (he had previously managed to find a new lover who gave birth to his second son, Finan, whom Norrin knew nothing about). Despite his eternal love for a girl named Shalla-Bal, Norrin had a restless soul that longed for contests and adventures, thus immersing him in the study of the ancient history of Zenn-La, which was fraught with many exciting events.

The surfer served Galactus faithfully for many years, enjoying exploring the wonders of the universe, but over time it became increasingly difficult for Galactus to find worlds endowed with energy and devoid of intelligent life. For a long time, Galactus slowly changed the Surfer's mind, suppressing Rudd's emotions and memories of the past. As a result, the Surfer became more and more inclined to lead Galactus to inhabited worlds like Earth. After locating Earth, despite Watcher Watu's attempts to prevent it, the Silver Surfer appeared in New York and confronted the Fantastic Four. During these events, the Surfer met a blind girl named Alicia Masters, who felt true nobility inside him.
