The Dark Eldar

The Dark Eldar are relatives of the Eldar, an ancient and advanced race of elf-like humanoids. Their armies, though few in number, take full advantage of speed and technology. The Dark Eldar revel in piracy, the slave trade, and torture, and they have elevated the art of sadism to an absolute. In their raiding raids, they use advanced anti-gravity skimmers carrying enough warriors to deliver lightning strikes at the enemy. Due to the fact that they use the Web, an interdimensional maze spanning the entire Galaxy, they are extremely mobile and can strike literally from nowhere, without warning or any background, and disappear with their captives before the enemy gathers military forces to strike back.

The Dark Eldar are unique among other races in that they do not inhabit multiple planets, but rather live in a single gloomy city known as Commorragh. Most of them are pirates, although sometimes they act as mercenaries.
