Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore (English Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore) is one of the main characters of the Potter Series, professor of transfiguration, headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Knight of the Order of Merlin first class, Grand Wizard, Supreme Wizard of the Wizengamot, President of the International Confederation of Magicians. He is known as the strongest magician of his time.

The history of the Dumbledore family is tragic. His sister, Ariana Dumbledore, was attacked by three Muggle boys at the age of six (the age of the first manifestations of elemental magic), after which the girl lost her mind. Beside himself with grief, her father, Percival Dumbledore, took revenge on Muggles, for which he was imprisoned in Azkaban for the rest of his life. Dumbledore's mother, Kendra, hid Ariana from others, fearing that her daughter would be taken to St. Mungo's Hospital and the family would never see her again. Normally calm, Ariana was unable to restrain her magic during her seizures and, as a result, accidentally killed Kendra.

At this time, Dumbledore was planning to travel the world with Elphias Doge after completing his studies at Hogwarts. But because of his mother's death, he was forced to stay to look after his younger sister.

In the summer after graduating from Hogwarts, Albus became friends with Gellert Grindelwald. They jointly made plans to subjugate the world, "for the common good." To begin with, they wanted to find the Deathly Hallows. Dumbledore and his brother Aberforth were increasingly quarreling over Albus' lack of care for Ariana. And when Grindelwald cast a Cruciatus spell on his brother in the heat of the argument, Albus tried to stop his friend, a fight ensued, during which Ariana was accidentally killed. None of them knew exactly who had done it; the fear that his spell had killed his sister had haunted Dumbledore all his life.

In the first decade of the twentieth century, Dumbledore joined Hogwarts as a professor of transfiguration (in the early 20s, he was already protesting against the exclusion of Salamander as a teacher). In 1938, as a special envoy, he came to Mrs. Cole's orphanage, where eleven-year-old Tom Riddle lives, to invite the orphan to Hogwarts. Albus has been Professor of ZoTI since December 1956, and Minerva McGonagall has been teaching transfiguration. Shortly before the "marauders" entered Hogwarts (circa 1969), Dumbledore became head of Hogwarts, replacing Armando Dippet in this post.

As headmaster, Dumbledore has done a lot to improve teaching at Hogwarts. First, he carefully selects teachers, not allowing violent people to teach. Secondly, since the beginning of his directorship, he has completely abolished corporal punishment. Thirdly, by always staying up to date with events at School, Dumbledore tries to nip problems in the bud, reacting in time to any hint of danger to students or teachers. Unfortunately, he doesn't always succeed.

The last years of his headship at Hogwarts fell during the second ascension of Lord Voldemort. Cedric Diggory's death at the Triwizard Tournament finally confirmed his suspicions that Voldemort had returned. Dumbledore gives a speech to the students of Hogwarts, in which he announces the rebirth of Voldemort. With this statement, he comes into conflict with the Ministry of Magic, which does not recognize the fact of the Dark Lord's return, and as a result loses his post as President of the International Confederation of Magicians, as well as the post of Supreme Wizard of the Wizengamot.

Later, the Ministry of Magic removed him from the management of Hogwarts altogether, appointing an extremely unpleasant person to the headmaster's position — Senior Deputy Minister of Magic Dolores Umbridge. Eventually, when the truth finally came out, Dumbledore was reinstated in all his positions.

After Dumbledore's death in 1997, the post of headmaster briefly passed to Minerva McGonagall, and then went to Severus Snape.

During the years of Voldemort's first arrival, Dumbledore founded and led the Order of the Phoenix, whose members truly opposed the Dark Lord. Half of the wizards who were part of the first Order of the Phoenix died in battles with Death Eaters. Immediately after the Dark Lord's disappearance, Dumbledore knew that sooner or later he would return. And he continued to prepare for the second arrival of Voldemort. He collects all possible information about Tom Riddle, closely follows the life of Harry Potter, calculates the possible plans of the Dark Lord.

Within an hour of Voldemort's rebirth, Dumbledore gathers his supporters and founds the second Order of the Phoenix, which, in addition to the old members (Mad-Eye Moody, Rubeus Hagrid, Remus Lupin, Minerva McGonagall, Dedalus Dingle, Mundungus Fletcher and others), includes new ones.
