Aquaman

Aquaman can breathe underwater, communicate telepathically and control all forms of marine life, as well as swim at high speeds. He also possesses superhuman strength, speed, endurance, and longevity — all the result of his body adapting to be protected under the tremendous pressure of the ocean depths.

Thomas Curry, a simple lighthouse keeper in Forgiveness Bay, Maine, pulled an injured blonde girl out of the water during a storm. After a while, Tom and Atlanna (that was the girl's name) began to feel sympathy for each other, which turned into love. The fruit of this love was Arthur, who, according to Atlanna, is destined one day to unite the peoples of the earth and the ocean. One day, Atlantean soldiers broke into Tom and Atlanna's house, demanding that she come with them. Atlanna rebuffed them, but she understood that in order to protect her beloved husband and son, she must return home to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Finally, Atlanna told Tom to wait for her at dawn.

The years passed. Arthur grew up an outcast because of his ability to communicate with fish. At the same time, Nuidis Vulko, Atlanna's royal advisor and loyal friend, taught the boy how to fight with tridents, the history of the underwater people and the possibilities of Atlantean physiology, thanks to which he is incredibly strong and literally "does not burn in fire and does not sink in water." When asked about his mother, Vulko remains silent for many years, but then admits that her "betrothed", King Orvax, from whom she ran away to land, learned about the birth of the "half-blood bastard", out of jealousy sacrificed Atlanna to the Hollow, the habitat of the Fallen, the feral branch of the underwater people. Finally, Atlanna left Vulko her trident and an order to protect Arthur and prepare him for the throne. However, Arthur, angry at the Atlanteans for their cruelty, renounced all ties with Atlantis.

The year is 2018. A year after the defeat of Steppenwolf, Arthur Curry returned to his craft of protecting people at sea, performing feats under the pseudonym Aquaman. One day, he engages in battle with a group of mercenaries of Jesse Kane, a hereditary pirate who decided to hijack a Russian nuclear submarine. Although many sailors were saved, Kane was pinned down by a torpedo during the battle, but despite his son David's pleas for help, Aquaman responds to him with "Beg for mercy from the sea!" as they killed innocents. David has to leave his father to die when he threatens to detonate a grenade, and swears revenge on Aquaman. And while Arthur spends time with his father and reaps the laurels of a hero in a local bar, his brother Orm forms an alliance with the king of the underwater kingdom Xebel Nereus, staging the attack of that very submarine on their meeting place. Orm's goal is to subjugate all the kingdoms of the Seven Seas and gain the ancient title of "Lord of the Oceans" in order to go to war on the surface world.
