Avatar of Khaine

The avatar is the incarnation of the Eldar god of war, Kael Mensha Khaine. During the Fall of the Eldar, Khaine fought Slaanesh. As a result of this battle, Khaine's very essence was shattered, and the fragments were scattered throughout the galaxy. They entered each of the Eldar ship worlds, where artifacts of rage appeared as a result, and even now, many centuries later, the Eldar can summon a particle of Khaine in their hour of need.

Once a year, on each world-ship, one of the exarchs is elected by the clairvoyants, who is given the title of Young King. As the shipworld prepares for a major war, its exarchs increasingly begin to feel the call of the Avatar. They gather at the door leading to the Avatar's hall and begin the ancient ritual of his awakening, during which they sing war hymns and rub sacred oils on the Young King. When the door to the hall opens, the Young King enters it. The exarchs then continue the ritual, which can last several hours or even days. Eventually, a terrible scream is heard from the audience and the avatar awakens. Nothing is known about the fate of the Young King, perhaps he is absorbed by Khaine, or simply destroyed without a trace.

During the battle, the avatar towers over the Eldar warriors, his presence fills them with rage and bloodlust, as well as memories of magnificent victories of the past, which makes the warriors even more courageous fighters. The avatar knows no fear and most often leads the attacks of the Eldar, defeating enemies with his legendary weapon, the Crying Rock, which can take the form of a sword, an axe or even a spear. With this weapon, the avatar can hit even distant opponents, burning them in a fierce fire of psychic energy.

The avatar is incredibly strong and consists of red-hot iron on the outside and liquid lava on the inside. Due to this, weapons based on the use of heat and fire are useless against the avatar. The avatar is so hot that most of the projectiles hitting it simply evaporate before contact, and those that do penetrate its body will burn up before they can explode. Even if the avatar is destroyed, his essence will be restored in the hall inside the shipworld, and after a while he will be able to return and continue his endless struggle against the enemies of the Eldar.
