Banshee

Howling Banshees are fast and agile aspect warriors specializing in hand—to-hand combat. Their masks contain psi sound amplifiers that turn their chilling battle cries into deadly shock waves that inflict a terrible blow on the nervous system of the enemies of the Eldar ship worlds, inspiring mortal fear and causing temporary paralysis. A full squad of Banshees, screaming in unison, can maim an enemy without striking at all.

In battle, these fierce warriors lack brute strength, which they make up for with precision and agility, slicing through armor, flesh, and bone with their shining power swords with equal ease.

The piercing wails of Howling Banshees strike to the depths of the soul, filling it with indescribable horror. Harsh veterans and cold-blooded killers feel their muscles go numb and their hearts freeze when a mournful howl rolls across the battlefield. After that, some figures appear out of the clouds of dust, clad in bone-colored armor, flickering like ghosts, and then the creepy sound sounds again, but louder and scarier, paralyzing everyone nearby. While the opponents cannot recover from such an acoustic attack, Howling Banshees crash into their ranks, wielding crackling power blades.

The predominantly female aspect of the Howling Banshees embodies the quickness, agility, and intimidating face of Khaine. These warriors stun and confuse the enemy before attacking to make sure that no one can escape from the charged blade of their power sword, with which they strike with perfect accuracy. To exact their revenge, the Howling Banshees rush swiftly at the enemy, reducing their ranks already at the stage of rapprochement by firing shuriken pistols. And when they step on, they barely touch the ground with their feet, easily making their way through ruins and dense forests and jumping over obstacles. All this time, they do not stop making heart—rending screams, promising the enemies only one thing - a quick and bloody death.

In Eldar mythology, the banshee is a harbinger of sorrows and death, whose crying, according to legend, portends a bad fate and can even tear the soul out of the soul stone. Unsurprisingly, the most terrifying aspect warriors draw inspiration from stories about this supernatural creature.

According to legend, the Old Goddess Morai-Heg wanted to partake of the wisdom contained in her divine blood. Knowing that only one being could harm a god, she sent her daughters to harass their father, Khaine, with their screams. Promising to lift the curse, she asked Khaine in exchange to cut off her hand so that she could drink her blood. After that, Morai-Heg gained the knowledge of blood, and Khaine gained the Banshee Aspect.

Weapons and equipment

Aspect Armor — Like other aspect warriors, Banshees use special armor based on cellular armor and psychic toughness. They automatically adjust to the wearer and provide him with good protection and freedom of movement at the same time. Contrary to popular belief, the jewels on the armor are not soul stones, but simply decorations or technical compartments.

Aspect Helmet (Banshee Mask) — A standard banshee helmet is made from reinforced psych armor. A distinctive feature of this aspect is the magnificent mane of red hair. Psychosonic amplifiers are built into the front part, which turn the already loud battle cries of female warriors into mind-destroying sound waves. The rune of the Howling Banshee aspect is depicted on the forehead.

The shuriken pistol is a convenient and lightweight auxiliary weapon, effective against enemy manpower.

Power Sword — Howling Banshees use Eldar power swords that cut through flesh, metal, and bone with equal ease.

Exarch's Equipment

Executioner — exarchs use power glaives capable of splitting an opponent with a single blow.

Mirror Swords — Some exarchs use two short power swords.

The shamrock is a deadly throwing weapon consisting of three interlocked blades. A unique version of this weapon, Jainas Mor ("Silent Death"), is used by the Phoenix Lord of the Howling Banshees, Jain Zar.

The rune "Rain of tears" signifies the deepest sorrow that Banshees are used as weapons that steal the souls of those who look at them and turn blood to ice.

Interesting facts
Contrary to popular belief, Howling Banshees are not a completely "feminine" aspect, i.e. there are not only female warriors among them, but also warriors, albeit much, much rarer.
