Tarkus the Iron

Iron Tarkus is a renowned knight whose physical strength has become legendary. He wears armor made of tempered black iron, so heavy that no one else could wear it. Apparently, Tarkus is a native of Berenice. He could have been part of the army of Berenice's knights, who, having become undead, went to Lordran, where they turned into hollow. Tarkus escaped this fate and retained his sanity, but was trapped in the Fortress of Hay.

The dejected merchant, listing the great heroes who tried to pass through the Fortress of Sen and get to Anor Londo, but were defeated, also names Tarkus. It is noteworthy, however, that in Anor Londo you can find a corpse with a Large sword and in a set of Black Iron — perhaps in his own world Tarkus still broke into the city of the gods, where he finally died.
