D.Va — a former esports player who defends her native country with the help of an experimental military mech.

Twenty years ago, South Korea was attacked by a giant robotic monster that rose from the depths of the East China Sea. The colossal robot inflicted terrible damage on coastal cities before it was thrown back into the sea. To protect cities from this new threat, the South Korean government has created a squad of armored MEKA drones.

The Government's fears were well-founded: there was a pattern to these attacks. Every few years, another monster rose from the ocean and attacked South Korea and neighboring countries. The robots analyzed these battles, creating new designs, endowing them with new abilities and installing new weapons. Each battle ended in a draw: the monster was defeated, but not completely destroyed.

The robots studied human tactics and found a vulnerability in the MEKA drone remote control system, forcing the army to use human pilots to control the mechs. In search of suitable candidates, the government turned to cybersportsmen: their reflexes and the ability to quickly understand a difficult situation allowed them to handle advanced mech weapons. Many esports stars have been drafted into the army— including world champion Hannah Song, also known as "D.Va ". The renowned master of virtual battles, D.Va I have always strived for victory at any cost. She has earned a reputation as a tenacious and ruthless fighter.

For D.Va A new task is another game. She is ready to defend her homeland at any moment: when the MEKA squad goes on the attack, D.Va fearlessly rushes into battle. She recently began broadcasting her combat operations online; the number of viewers on her channel has grown so much that she has become a worldwide celebrity.
