Despite the fact that Vader was once the kind and just Anakin Skywalker, the man known as Darth Vader was evil personified. Darth Vader was a cruel, vindictive, single-minded, emotionless, and power-hungry man obsessed with total control over everyone. After assuming the title of Sith, he turned into a cruel and merciless dark Jedi, who does not forgive the mistakes of others and uses all means to achieve his diabolical goals. He longed for power, fulfilled any whim of the Emperor, and knew no compassion or forgiveness.

However, Vader was an honest player, not devoid of principles, morality and the concept of honor, and there was also a glimmer of goodness in this incredibly evil man, the light with which Luke Skywalker brought his father back.

The Sith tried in vain to pass off his wishful thinking, namely his atrocities as patriotism and an expression of loyalty to the Empire. He believed that what he was doing was more than justified, because state security was at stake. And it doesn't matter how many people died, because there are no irreplaceable people. Obsessed with hatred and disregard for any life, Vader committed countless atrocities "in the name of goodness and justice" in the service of the Empire.
