Feferi Patience (Homestuck)

Feferi Patience, also known in TROLIAN under the nickname of the Cockatiel Collector, is one of the TROLLS. Her zodiac sign is Pisces, and her horns resemble the upper half of it. She is a sea dweller, as well as the (former) heir to the throne in the monarchical troll society.

It is named after METASEPIA PFEFFERI, a venomous species of cuttlefish. Her name may come from the word "feri", meaning a type of traditional witchcraft. In addition, "Feferi" means "cuttlefish" in Latin. Her last name is the Portuguese name for "Pisces" (and the zodiac sign, and just pisces, as a type of animal), which is pronounced as PAY-shes. Feferi's first and last name could also be made up of the words "fairy" and "pixie", which are mythical creatures associated with elements and attributes peculiar to women, such as water. Regarding the latter theory, it is worth noting that in modern media, these magical creatures are depicted as bright, cheerful and ready to help, while traditionally the faerie people were considered cunning, deceitful, selfish and wayward.
