Lictor


Lictors are Tyranid creatures that serve as specialized scouts. They are the vanguard of the Tyranid swarm and are constantly on the lookout for potential prey.

Lictors are natural masters of disguise and can move quickly through even the most difficult terrain without a single sound. The lictor's body is covered with Chameleon Skin, which can change its color in order to blend in perfectly with its surroundings, making the creature almost invisible to the naked eye. Unlike most Tyranid creatures, Lictors do not possess instinctive aggressiveness, they are patient hunters who wait for their prey among the shadows. Lictors usually avoid unfavorable situations for them and carefully choose the time to attack. Most often, they choose a single victim who has strayed from the main forces. A lictor can lie completely still for several days before deciding to strike at an enemy who is not even aware of his presence.

Lictors are armed with mantis-like claws, Scythe Claws, biting Hooks, and numerous antennae ending in pointed bone plates strong enough to pierce an opponent's skull. These tendrils are often used to open an enemy's head and eat his brain, from which the lictor can absorb the memories of his prey and thus learn about the location of enemy troops and weaknesses in the defenses that the Tyranids can exploit.

Apparently, Lictors are specially modified Tyranid Warriors adapted to survive in a hostile environment. Lictors are much taller than even Space Marines, but despite their great height, they are extremely agile and fast, so they can overtake almost any victim. They are also quite intelligent and have highly developed sensory organs that help them see, hear, smell and taste their prey long before it learns of its existence.
When approaching prey, lictors emit a special pheromone trail that attracts other Tyranids. The more enemies the lictor finds, the stronger the pheromone release will be, and the larger the group of Tyranids will gather to this call. Therefore, even if you find and kill a lictor, it does not guarantee complete safety, because it is likely that other tyranids are already approaching in his footsteps.
