Nanachi (MadeInAbyss)

Nanachi (Nanati) is one of the blessed empty ones. She used to be a human, but became empty because of the Bondryud experiment.

Being human, Nanachi is a girl about Riko's age with gray hair that reaches her shoulders. Nanachi's eyes were tired, and her hair wasn't well groomed.

After becoming empty, Nanachi stopped looking like a human. Now she looks more like an anthropomorphic rabbit, but with a long and thick tail. On his head, Nanachi wears an unusual helmet, from which rather long ears stick out. A wool cape and wooden plates are attached to the helmet. Also, most likely, two horns protrude from the helmet, pointing forward. She also wears puffed trousers, similar to red and white trousers, with zippered pockets on the sides. A cape is attached to the pants, which is worn over the torso. By wearing it, Nanachi visually becomes thicker and more secure. Nanachi's hands stopped looking like human hands. Now it's two furry paws with cropped toes. It seems like this might prevent Nanachi from doing the delicate work, but it's not. The only thing that has changed the least is Nanachi's hairstyle, which is also a square with elongated front strands, only the strands have become slightly longer. Two stripes on the sides, reaching below the waist, to which jewelry is attached, somewhat similar to rings, are part of the helmet. Nanachi also has two small moustaches on each cheek. Nanachi's pupils are similar to goat's, also horizontally directed.

In most cases, she behaves with restraint and is somewhat detached. Nanachi was left without parents at an early age. Her children shunned her. That's why she became like this. The only person who made her smile was Mittie. She treasured her friend very much, she loved Mitty.

Her ironic attitude often borders on sarcasm and even cynicism, but if you dig deeper, it becomes clear that she hides a kind soul behind an impenetrable shell, prone to deep compassion and selfless devotion.

Little is known about Nanachi's past. She was born in the far north in the Sereni region. At a young age, she lost her home and parents, and thanks to Bond, she fell into the Abyss. Having participated in one of Bondreud's experiments, Nanachi turns into an empty one, but her friend, Mittie, was not so lucky. She had lost not only her humanity, but also her intelligence. After that, Nanachi became cold-blooded and indifferent. She began helping Bondriud with experiments, as well as making cartridges out of children. After seeing Mittie's torment as a result of Bondreud's experiments, Nanachi decided to run away with her friend. After Nanachi and Mittie escaped from the Idofront, they began to live on the fourth level in a shelter located not in the mine of the Abyss, but in the wall.

Nanachi looks the same age as Riko, but her first-hand knowledge of the physics and ecology of the Abyss indicates that she spent more than one year there. In addition, Nanachi is a gifted healer with considerable knowledge in many fields of medicine. However, despite such talents, Nanachi is a terrible cook. Although at the moment, Riko is teaching Nanachi how to cook.

Nanachi and Mittie met on their way to the Idofront. In the Idofront itself, they became even closer. Mittie was the only person who made Nanachi smile. It came as a shock to Nanachi when Mittie became empty. After escaping from the Idofront with Mittie, Nanachi tried to give her empty friend peace. But all attempts were unsuccessful. But thanks to Reg, Mittie finally got some peace.

After meeting the artificially created Mittie on the sixth level, Nanachi sold herself just to stay by her friend's side.

Nanachi and Reg first met on the fourth level, in the shelter (and had met before). Nanachi saved Riko from death. Reg was ready to do anything for the rescue. During their time together, they became closer and Nanachi asked Ryoga to kill Mittie. Which means that Nanachi trusts Ryouga.

Nanachi and Riko's relationship is somewhat similar to that with Reg. Nanachi saved Riko, and Riko taught (probably) Nanachi cooking. During the time they spent together, they only became friendlier.

At first, Nanachi did not see Bondruda as a cruel and cold-blooded monster and willingly agreed to go with him into the Abyss. But after Nanachi found out about the experiments (and even participated in one personally) After a white Whistle, she realized what kind of monster he really was.

Nanachi herself never focuses on her gender and is used to using the neutral personal pronoun "oira" in relation to herself.

Nanachi has a double iris in the shape of an empty one. The outer iris is straw-colored, while the inner one is a dull green.
