Robert Baratheon

King Robert Baratheon, the first of this name, King of the Seven Kingdoms, eldest son of Steffon Baratheon and Cassana Estermont, brother of Stannis Baratheon and Renly. A childhood friend of Eddard Stark, with whom he was raised at the court of Jon Arryn. The husband of Cersei Lannister, who married him and became the mother of three children: Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen. Robert also had bastards from different women — Gendry, Edric Storm, Mia Stone, Barra and others.

Robert came to power by raising a rebellion and overthrowing the mad Aerys II Targaryen. Being a relative of the Targaryens — the grandson of Princess Raila Targaryen and the great—grandson of King Aegon V - Robert did have certain rights to the Iron Throne, but preferred to say that he had won the throne with his warhammer.
