Beherit

Beherite (also "behelite") is a supernatural object associated with the astral world and the Apostles: a person into whose hands beherite fell can become an Apostle. Beherite resembles an egg with randomly scattered eyes, nose and mouth. Most beherites are light-colored; Griffith's Bloody Beherite was rare, if not the only one of its kind.

Beherites are often perceived even by their own owners simply as unusual amulets, but they are living creatures: the beherite's eyes can open slightly, looking around at what is happening around them. The owners of the beherites are predestined by fate, and the lost beherite will return to its owner on its own. The purpose for which the Beherites exist is to open the Gap, establishing a connection between the material and astral worlds, providing an opportunity for its owner to meet the Hand of the Lord.

Apparently, there are certain conditions for the launch of beherite and the opening of the Gap: the owner of beherite must be in a state of extreme despair and desire to avoid his fate at all costs, and his blood must fall on beherite. The bloody Beherite does not just give the owner the opportunity to open a gap — it determines the entry of its owner into the ranks of the Hand of the Lord. It is likely that each of its five members possessed a Blood Beherite during his earthly life, but it is unknown whether it was the same item or five different ones.
